Homeless World Cup

Yes, there is such a thing as the Homeless World Cup; it's actually a major event and a great cause. If you have a chance, check their site -- http://www.homelessworldcup.org/ -- a worthy cause indeed.

This year, the world Cup was held right here in Rio and they set up for the events right on the beach and not very far from our building. You'll find a picture of the venue below.

Needless to say, Ernie didn't miss many matches. It was free admission and the matches were very fast-paced. I was amazed at the number of countries taking part in the event; we often don't associate certain countries with homelessness...

Ernie also managed to get a sunburn while seating on the bleachers -- let's not mention the major cut on his finger while having lunch between matches!
